(hey, did anyone else see the rainbow today? when i turned on to highway 50 late this afternooon, i had to rub my eyes and blink hard to make sure i wasn't seeing things. it stood like two pillars at the entrance of vermillion.)
(i've never seen a rainbow in february before.)

I did indeed. Tried like heck to get my daughter to see it. When she finally did, I explained to her what a sun-dog and a moon-dog are. Fun stuff. Made the cold a bit more bearable. Of course, technically, what we saw today, the prismatic ring around the sun is not a sun-dog, but it was close enough for explainable for a six year old....
